Reinaldo Powell was born in Cuba where he graduated from the municipal dance school. His salsa group took part in many shows/projects in Kyiv and Ukraine (for example for concerts at the concert hall "Ukraine", at the festival "Tavrysky Igry", in solo concerts with the popular ukrainian singer Olga Polyakova and group "Domino", for TV programs like "Podyom","The fifth studio", "Ne vse doma" and "Nota Bene", ...).
In 1998, Powell became the vice-president of the 1st Spanish Latin American cultural center in Kyiv. He became at the same time the president of the Cuban Association in Ukraine. In November 1999 Powell became the administrator and instructor of the Salsa Dance studio "Salsa Club". "Salsa Club" has since become the biggest ukrainian Salsa Studio. We are constantly organizing theme parties, exhibition performances, and its the 3rd time we are holding Salsa Congress "Salsa-Mayovka", Cuban festival "Cuba Si" in Kyiv, and Festival "Salsa on the Beach" in Odessa city.
Powell actively seeks to develop the Salsa movement in Ukraine: he organizes seminars in different cities, and our Dance Studio has already opened branches in Kharkov, Dnepropetrovsk, Odessa and Lvov, Semfiropol, Donestk, Nikolaev, Rivne, Chernovsy and Vinniza. He was one of the 20 best dancers in the famous show TV program "So you think you can dance" in Ukraine in season 6, and was awarded the title "Man of the Year" in 2007.
Yuliya Hannochko together with Powell was part of Latin American group "Saboreno". Yuliya has been Powell's dance partner for 10 years. Since November 1999, she has been also the administrator and master of Latin American Dance Studio "Salsa Club" together with Powell. She is currently getting a choreography degree in the field of Modern dancing. Yuliya is constantly involved in international congresses and seminars. She teaches Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Cha-Cha-Cha, Afro-Cuban dances with other world-renowned instructors-choreographers. Together with Powell, Yuliya organizes all "Salsa Club" events, and is in charge of creating the choregraphies for her students. She regularly gives seminars in Social Latin American dances all around Ukraine, and she is the co-organizer of International Salsa Congress "Salsa Mayovka".
